Best Take-Out Pizza

Who do you think has the best take-out pizza?

Chatbrat 06-18-2018 05:25 AM

Bellview Pizza of Giovani's Deli

My Daily Run 06-18-2018 06:30 AM

I have given up on pizza here in The Villages...I have it when I travel or I go to Walmart...they have a refrigerated pizza (not frozen) with all the fixings for 5 or 6 bucks and it is as good or better then any I have found...16 to 18 minutes in the oven and it is not bad at all. For that price you can't lose.

Blessed2BNTV 06-18-2018 07:11 AM

Aldi’s makes a really good refrigerator pizza.

leftyf 06-18-2018 07:13 AM

Sam's Club, but have them bake it, it has all fresh ingredients. I don't like the take and bake as well.

BobnBev 06-18-2018 07:13 AM

It's a toss-up between Mallory Hill CC and NYPD pizza.:MOJE_whot:

B-flat 06-18-2018 07:28 AM

Caserta’s Pizza 121 Spruce Providence, Rhode Island. Oops wrong state, I say that in jest but we have never found pizza we like anywhere in Florida. Thanks for the suggestions on Walmart and Sam’s club refrigerated pizza.

SFSkol 06-18-2018 07:39 AM

Stay away from Flippers. Who puts Pepperoni under the cheese? Ordered 1/2 chesse 1/2 pepperoni and couldn't tell where the pepperoni was.

Chatbrat 06-18-2018 07:51 AM

In all reality--by pillsbury thin pizza dough, make your own pizza--if you have a Big Green Egg, indirect heat @ 600 degrees on pizza stone--let the stone heat for 20 minutes--use parchment paper instead of corn meal

Beats any pizza in TV--the 2 restaurants I mentioned are not in TV

STAVROS PIZZA in Leesburg...

Best we have found here.

Agreed. Best Greek style pizza. Thick crust, crisp bottom.

Rapscallion St Croix 06-18-2018 10:19 AM

Pizza is not even a thing back in Possum Poot, Louisiana, so I have to ask....is "take out" pizza different from "eat at one of our tables in the restaurant" pizza?

Chatbrat 06-18-2018 10:26 AM

should be the same, but, as previously stated -pizza in this area is a poor imitation of pizza--one the greatest pizza's we ever ate was in Cary, NC--thye had a 1000 degree coal fired oven--the first day they opened , they ran out of dough, they were named restaurant of the year in the Triangle, after being open less than 90 days--when they sold the restaurant , the purchasers folded in a year--it takes skill to cook @ 1000 degrees--look up Bella Mia-Cary, NC

vintageogauge 06-18-2018 10:31 AM

Pasta Fair or Fare in Belleview. Located in front of where the K-mart was. Excellent think crust pizza. It's quite a drive from Fenney so only go there if we are up north for something or coming back from Ocala. We buy a couple of them and freeze what is left to heat up in the oven another day, it's even good after freezing it.

Topspinmo 06-18-2018 11:00 AM

Pizza is individual taste depending on where you're from and acquired taste. For me I rate pizza compared to godfathers supreme. Yes I know now where near to authentic Italian pizza which I don't like. If I pay 20 bucks plus for pizza I expect the ingredients to piled high not so thin and sparse that the oven burns it up. I find sams club Meat trio for 6 bucks with adding I like at home it's the best pizza for the buck around here for me.

Absolutely horrible pizza. Went there once and would never go back. Of course, I grew up in an Italian city so all to me, Greek pizza, or cafe style pizza is just not good.

Little Joeys on 27/441 in Summerfield is pretty good.

lanabanana73 06-18-2018 01:22 PM

NYPD cheese pizza is my local favorite!

Chatbrat 06-18-2018 02:11 PM

Best take-out pizza

Being a major pizza fan, I do find Mallory or Sammy Jo's pizza edible..... but not like "back home"..... Ha! Right! We all sit here and lament on how things were "back home". I have fond memories of Vincent's and/or Mineo's in Pittsburgh. Always talking about how I would love a pizza from there. Well.... my sister from Pgh came to visit and lo & behold, she surprised me with not 1 but 3 pizza's from Mineo's. So much for "fond memories" .... i almost gagged, could not eat it. So, just maybe ...... things weren't that much better "back home" ?????

Chicago is famous for deep dish pizza, but the thin crust variety is the most eaten.

I wonder why the pizza is in squares no triangles. I went to college in Peoria and the 1st time we ordered pizza to our dorm we were shocked by the squares.

My Post 06-18-2018 02:53 PM

What the hell is that thing? Looks like something from the Pillsbury bake-off. Is it true if you order a pizza in Chicago it comes with bullets as topping?

Be careful about the parchment paper. I've set it on fire on the grill. Also, not advisable to use fresh moz. Use the bagged shredded that's dryer. The fresh had so much liquid in it, it boiled up and cracked two pizza stones.

Interesting, I never thought about it other than the fact that the squares were the gooiest without the outer crust. And the hottest.

That is what you get for making your own pizza! I thought pizza only came in delivery vans.
I've heard Flippers is good, but not for me.

Do yourself a favor, next time you're headed north on I-95 and you've past the northside of the Baltimore Beltway (I-695). In another ten miles get off at exit 77B Bel Air, Maryland. Go west towards Bel Air and turn right in a 1/2 mile at the first intersection (Rt 924 Emmorton Rd.) proceed about a mile just past the Walgreens to the shopping on the right. Midway just past the center next to the Ravens/Orioles Souvenir Shop is "BOX HILL PIZZA". Voted best Crabs Cakes in Maryland, also excellent pizza and even better steak subs. BTW, fans of Wegmans, you'll past a Wegmans on the right just past the WaWa.

This is the front, it's two storefronts. I just noticed on their facebook page they're expanding the front of the building and increasing the waiting area and a new doorway, so it will look different. I lived a 1/2 a mile from this place from 1998 to 2011, I miss them and two of my favorite golf courses the most.

We have lived all over the country, and the best pizza we have had is in Cable, WI.

Brooklyn in Melbourne serves very good pizza too.

Please - no frozen pizzas!

Please no Dominoes, no LIttle Caesar, none of those chain pizzerias - but Uno's is very good for a chain restaurant.

Yung Dum 06-21-2018 10:34 PM

I have read every post here and am so happy there were no votes for Papa Johns, Pizza Hut, Dominoes and the rest of that ilk. I vote for Bravos and Pasta Faire, which has a bogo on Wednesdays.

kilowatt 07-20-2018 03:12 PM

Bravos for me as well

Chatbrat 07-20-2018 03:22 PM

None of the above--no such thing as good pizza in TV

SFSkol 07-20-2018 03:34 PM

Recently went to Stravos, Leesburg

Excellent Sicilian pizza! Some call it Greek style. Felt like I was back home in Queens NYC at Coratos.
