Lawn Leveling

I am thinking about leveling parts of my lawn - have watched several videos and read articles. My question is what materials have you used to level your lawn and where did you purchase the materials? Some suggest “builder sand” but I can not seem to find builder sand in the big box stores. Also, are there any local companies that provide lawn leveling as a service? Thanks for your assistance. Top Dressing With Sand ? Should I Put Sand On My Lawn
You can find more info with a search on "top dressing with sand"
Also Exquisite Hard Scapes on US 301, Oxford 352-330-3630 may do this type of service.

RE: Builders sand and box stores
You are probably looking in the garden sections. You will find it with building supplies/ BE SURE YOU ARE BUYING SAND AND NOT ONE OF THE CEMENT MIXES SUCH AS SAKREET.

If, you have some serious depressions you want to first find the reason. Possibly a removed tree with it's roots now rotting. Perhaps buried trash or a dreaded sink hole,

If a minor issue you can add about 1/4 inch to the top of your lawns low spots every week or three. Faster but more work, you can cut your grass with a sharpened straight shovel, roll back the grass (sod) put soil underneath and roll back the grass.

While you are at the box store, buy an eight foot 2x4.
You will use that as a straight edge to be sure when your soil ine is straight. If, you decide to use sand, try it first.
Mix some with our existing lime clay. You may well find out you are creating cement.

Same here; use it all of the time.

Adam Neusbaum 352-342-1384 does this kind of work. Last week he core aerated my lawn, then top dressed it with Milorganite (but, he can alternatively top dress with manure/sand mixture), then he cut it, then he rolled out the lawn with heavy machine roller. I’ve used Adam for 3 years. He is excellent and reasonably priced.
