The travel time seems to be high. I hate to drive south to go north.

Instead of using RT 46 to get to I-95 why not try using RT 40.
Fl-25 to Cr-42 (rt on 42)
Cr-42 to Cr-19 (left on 19)
Cr-19 to S Fairview Ave (right on Fairview)
Follow Fairview Ave to RT 40.
Follow 40 to I -95 at Ormand Beach.

Or you can try Rt 207 through Palatka. I recently went that way and it was about a 1 hour 30 minutes to I-95 / I-295 on the sosuth side of Jacksonville.

Good luck and safe travels.

Sounds like you'd be going out of your way.

Hawkwind's way (either 40 or 207) is a very relaxing way to go. None of the stress of the traffic or many speed limit changes of 301.

There is nothing wrong with the US 301 route. Just observe the speed limits. They are reasonable.

I've used this route.

Direction Distance

Turn right onto US 301 N 2.0 mi
Keep left onto SE Abshier Blvd 9.2 mi
Turn right onto SE Hames Rd 0.2 mi
Turn left onto SE Baseline Rd 0.4 mi
Turn right onto E Silver Springs Blvd 10.9 mi
Turn left onto Cr-315 2.6mi Keep right onto Cr-315 N 20.9 mi
Turn right onto County Road 315 25.3 mi
Turn right onto Hwy 21 32.2 mi
Arrive at 295 Jacksonville

About 100 miles 2hours 11 minutes mostly country roads and no traffic.

Hey Hawkwind, I'm curious. I much prefer 19 to Palatka and 207 to I-95. Isn't that 90 minutes considerably quicker than taking Rt 40?

I believe it is quicker going 19 / 207 to I-95 than 40. But then again it depends how fast you drive. We all know what the driving speed is like on I-95 and on RT-40 through the forest people move right along. I really have not made enough trips to TV to get good recorded times of the most popular routes.
