Another cart with an AC motor
 

New 2018 Atomic Zipper now has an AC motor. It is a tiny car that can be registered for the road as LSV. It is enclosed and it has a heater and air conditioner.

An AC motor is far more efficient (>20%), powerful, quieter, and maintenance free (No brushes to wear out). Carts with AC motors:

Is this significant? What benefits does an AC motor have vs. DC?

Improved braking power when traveling downhill (may also provide regeneration which improves distance)
Higher RPM rates that generate higher top speeds
More power for climbing hills and carrying heavy loads
Faster acceleration
