The Villages "Company"
 

The Villages, owned by the Morse family - can someone educate me? Is The Villages a corporation? Naturally, they have a Sales office - however, where are all the other employees & departments? Human Resources? IT Dept? Accountants? Analysts? Payroll, Legal, etc. Are these departments outsourced? When you go to The Villages career section the postings are very limited and mostly minimum wage positions.

It has been described as a "benign dictatorship" by some on TOTV.:a20:

I think that the other positions are physically on the second floor of the sales building. Wait. Is there a second floor???

Maybe there are no openings for more lucrative jobs.

Most of the "executives" and other branches of support have
 

offices in Lake Sumter Landing on the second floor above Starbucks. Other administrative functions have offices in the many office "parks" throughout TV. And of course the most important arm of TV is McLin and Burnsedt, attorneys.

Locations seem to be in a state of flux as new facilities are built and other uses like renting the existing facility comes up.

They own a number of the satellite businesses but I believe the main umbrella company is the Villages Operating Company (golf courses, country clubs, LSL town square, + ???); Undeveloped property is owned by The Villages of Lake Sumter Inc.

I don't know what corporation all the HR, IT, etc folks actually work for.

But, you're right, these are generally pretty low paying jobs.

TV IT department is located on the second floor right above The Villages.Net offices. Go through the walkway between Nantucket Bay and Ambrosia on the Square to the back of the building and you will find a set of stairs. Go to up the stairs and down a few doors and you have found the IT department.

HR was located in SS in 2008 but may have moved. It was located on Del Mar Dr. on the second floor across from Curves (in that same general building but again with the entrance around back).
