Just when you thought you had seen it all a new one pops up. I received a bill from ADT Security and it was "double" for a month. I called them and they tried to explain how a billing cycle can cause the monthly bill to double at the same time.!! Of course that is allegedly a lot of Baloney. They struggled to justify it and finally said they would split it to the 2 months. It is clear this could allegedly cause a huge potential "interest windfall" as the money is being deposited in their account prior to the debt being due. I should add the person told me they bill a month in advance. You can't make this stuff up.:mad:

Sometimes, that kind of sneaky behavior...is indicative of cash flow issues/problems.

Hopefully, they're not also reducing the number of human monitors... watching for alarms going off.

Coldnomore: Thanks for the article you attached to your note. Ir reiterates what I said to them on the phone yesterday. They tried a real alleged "double talk" explanation for the double billing. It was a poor excuse and allegedly the reason to give if customers who complain. She finally said she would split the bill July and August and asked that I eMail her the eMail I received from ADT alerting me that I would be billed double on July 27th. When I spoke to them I was told I would be billed a month on July 24th and then their note said 2 payments on the 27th. I am not sure if that meant I was going to be billed 3 times. Your note with the explanation shook my tree to start looking for alternatives in case this goes belly up or the rates are increased!! Since I am direct billed, it is possible I guess to process the charge and make me fight it if necessary.:mad:

Alternatives putting pressure on
 
Alternative security sources, especially SimpliSafe which is easily self-installed are biting into their market share.
