Hearings to RAISE assessments
 

Did anyone else notice all of the notices in the newspaper to raise the maintenance assessments? I live in District 2 and they want to raise the assessment and they can't even repair the lake at Alhambra due to sink holes. I work full time and can't attend the meeting but I hope some of your lucky retirees can.

Maybe the repair of the pond is one of the reasons for an increase in the assessment...

At least our taxes are going down.

A lot of the increase this year is due to Irma cleanup last fall

It's usually not good if ur taxes go down, usually means property value is declining.

Are the real estate tax bills out yet??

Sumter County goes down because of good leadership. Lake County goes up due to poor leadership. Our property value goes up but we pay the same tax rate. Not necessarily the same amount.
