Atomic Golf Carts

I am thinking of purchasing a new Atomic 4 seater golf cart. We went out to the sales place yesterday and was impressed with the features as well as the safety features. I checked on totv but didn't find too many recent posts about the Atomic cart. The new width of these carts is 50 inches. Of course my main concern is going over the bridge on Lake Sumter and also the wooden bridge by the gate house by Morse and 466. I would appreciate any comments about this from present owners. I think the older Atomic models were a few inches wider than 50. We don't plan on making the vehicle street legal.

Thanx

John

Little Dog, What is the width of a recent Yamaha?

Fredman 08-26-2018 05:13 PM

I know a guy who had one of these and he said replacement batteries cost over 2k

There's a large photo on the wall of the Atomic offices that shows an Atomic Coupe going over the Morse Bridge. It fits, and they say it's no wider than a Yamaha with eh Curtis cab (doors open). We have an Atomic Coupe and go over the bridge with no problems. Just slow down (obey the speed limit) and everything is fine. Can't beat the safety features and the air conditioning is great.

Have friends who have them, ( 2 carts), wow, they love them and they say the prices are very good. One dealer is in Wildwood area, another closer to Brownwood, I have not been to the dealers but will go soon to look. So far, very happy with my EZ GO electric we bought elsewhere. Have friends coming to visit and will look at Atomic and also E Merge electric Carts on 441 just south of 466a.
That shop on 441 did an excellent maintenance lesson for free, open to all, they really know their carts, all electric.

The only Atomic dealer is the one close to Brownwood. The other one in Wildwood is a Crown dealer. Similar concept, but no comparison IMO.

Gracie - My Yamaha is 44" wide. We also looked at Crown. Their cheaper but no comparison.

Atomic with golf tires is around 54" with radials a bit less. I have one and it goes over the Morse bridge as well as the "Historic" Bridge. A little tight but once you get used to it it's fine. It's now street legal so I don't have to deal with that anymore.

New Coupe model

Talked to sales guy at Brownwood shop regarding the new Coupe model. Says should be available first quarter of year. No pics or specs yet but rumor says will look more rounded and will have the new battery that will have much longer life plus all the upgrades of the Zipper and the Zip, the new smaller models. The Coupe is several inches wider than the Zipper. Supposed to have a range of 100 miles plus. Can’t wait.

Interesting a 2016 had the batteries replaced in '17. Some bad tire wear on the front also.

I saw one on the golf course. To me you will wear the doors out as many times you get in and out of the cart in a round of golf. Double if someone is riding with you. But at least you have ac.
