Any proof-readers out there in TOTV?

My wife, Diane, is retiring in December. She is gearing up for an after-retirement part-time job as a proof-reader.

She has a Masters degree, a 30-year career as a computer professional, and does some technical writing.

She has been doing some proof-reading gartis, just to build her resume'.

Are there any current or former proof-readers in TOTV land she could connect with?

(and, no, she didn't proofread this message)

Thanks,

Dirigo

The Villages Daily Sun

I would imagine that you might try the local newspaper for starters. I knew a proofreader who worked there and she loved it, however, that was about ten-plus years ago when the newspaper was in it's infancy.

Good luck in your search.....b

Barb may be onto something by suggesting the Daily Sun. I'm neither a proof-reader or an English major, although I will tell you one thing about the Daily Sun: I have not read that paper once where I haven't found at least one grammatical error (usually several).

The Daily Sun needs your wife's skills.

Aw, c'mon, Julie. Are you really an undercover English major?

Julie is right! Errors in spelling, but grammar is the most often spotted.

And, Tony, I majored in French, whose rules are fierce! But my late wife was an English major, and taught it in junior high for years!

I am absolutely, positively NOT an English major. I have heard rumors about a few TOTV members though...
