How do you rotate a picture/attachment

Getting very frustrated here. How in the heck do you rotate a picture on TOTV? When we attach it to a post it shows up sideways. HELP!!!!

You must do that BEFORE you upload the image to TOTV. All platform devices have apps/programs that let you do that.

The picture WAS right side up in our picture folder when selected!

It is a quirk of the site software with some picture formats/systems. Some members have had success by creating a copy of the picture and rotating it before uploading it. If it is upside down on TOTV, rotate it upside down before uploading it. In most cases, members can see it well enough to appreciate what is presented.

Moderator, It is not a quirk, (there are reasons these things happen.)

If an image uploaded sideways it's because of EXIF data encoded in the picture you took when you took it. You originally snapped the picture upside down or sideways. TOTV takes the image AS SENT based upon this data and doesn't autocorrect it (meaning you probably just had the camera upside down/sideways when you took the pictures or at least the EXIF data thinks so.)

Your picture folder, on whatever device you are using, utilizes software that automatically rotates it. Take a few portrait/landscape pictures, VIEW them and see what I mean. Most VIEWING software does this automatically, The original orientation EXIF data is still a part of the picture. Image EDITING software will show the original image as taken.

It's usually not a big deal, but if you'd like to fix it, just open and re-save the pictures in a photo editor and upload them again.

Most devices have image software EDITING apps/programs that will rewrite the EXIF data of that image.
