The Lofts at Brownwood

I’m Planning on retiring in the Villages, in a 1 1/2 - 2 years. Any thoughts on the Lofts coming to Brownwood ? TIA

As far as what? They only recently began construction at the site.

They are long term rental units.

I think it is way too early for you to be considering a specific property or location in The Villages. No one knows what value the Lofts will offer as compared to other housing opportunities that will be available in 2 years.

The Lofts at Brownwood | The Villages

I have a feeling these units will be very popular, especially for residents not wanting to mess with lawns, exterior upkeep, etc. Residents will have full use of The Villages amenities (of course, they will pay an amenity fee). Given its location, its only steps from the Brownwood Town Square, and a grocery store is only minutes away.

I’m single, not sure if I want a house with upkeep, I dont see any condo’s in the area so I was thinking this might be a good option.

You can sign up for information when it is available. I have put my info in because I think this would be perfect for my parents. No one has any idea of $$$ for a one year contract. I’m thinking once they have 100% occupancy it will be it may be a long wait For a unit.

If they are popular they will be expensive.

🤔,, so maybe a patio villa would be more affordable

Time will tell as more information is revealed, but as someone else alluded to on here you may want to investigate other options such as a patio villa in the meantime. You may not have the added luxuries right outside your door with a patio villa that The Lofts will offer, but if you are renting then your lawn, pest control, etc will most likely be covered by the owner so essentially it is still a low maintenance option.

My best guess is about $2000 to $3000 a month. They will have their own pool, gym, dog park. This is just a guess, but I no one has any idea. Once I put in my info I get the occasional email of fluff info. Less money than an apartment at one of the assisted living.

I like the idea of the Lofts but would not want to rent, I would rather own.

They are, from what I’ve heard, planning on building condos in the Fenney/Southern Oaks area one day.

I get the feeling the developer is starting to look at what Gen X and the Millenials will want one day.
Of course the Millenials (1980-1995) are still very
young (my Son is an older Millenial, just turned 34).

They don’t think the post Baby Boomers are all going to want houses.

I have a courtyard villa that costs about $800 per month in expenses and very little maintenance work. So, paying $2000 to $3000 in rent seems ridiculous. But, I would welcome the opportunity to purchase a luxury condo in a multi-story building with upscale private amenities, if available.

Can you break down your $800/month expenses for the CYV? We're looking to buy one, and I'm interested to know. Thanks.
