Democrats are Socialists
 

A poll of Democrats indicates that 53% of them claim to be Socialists.

This shows what is wrong with our Country Under Democrat leadership.

Not true. As soon as I read your post I had to go check it.

The Gallup poll said that 53% of Democrats "view socialism favorably" as compared to 36% of "Americans". That is FAR from claiming to BE socialist. As far as I know, only Bernie Sanders of Vermont claimed to be a Socialist (as far as members of Congress are concerned)

Self-described "liberals" bump that number up a little - 61% of them "view socialism favorably".

Then again, define "socialist". Are we talking USSR-style totalitarian socialist? Or are we talking UK-style socialism that somehow still managed to have London supplant New York as the financial capital of the world.

Close enough for me.

That's like saying "if you think it's ok for the government to have warrantless wiretaps, then you must be in favor of a totalitarian police state".

Or, to put in in perhaps less inflammatory terms, "if you are favorable towards being 'tough on crime' you must think police states are ok".

There's a HUGE difference.

I do not think that Democrats are socialists.....much to much of a generalization......

Sort of like when the Speaker of the House said...that it was a totalitarian police state to wiretap without a warrant during the last administration......OH....just read that somewhere !

...and it's not like the GOP has a monopoly on this now..

I'm just reading that the Justice Department wants to be able to track cell-phone locations without a warrant.

WHAT IS THIS OBSESSION WITH SPYING ON OUR OWN PEOPLE WITHOUT A WARRANT???

What is so difficult about calling a judge to get a warrant?

I wonder what your life experience has been to make you so hateful and fearful of Democrats and Socialists. By the "God hrelp us" ending you make it clear you believe either label is a synonym for evil. Many studies have shown that the overwhelming influence on people's political preferences is the position taken by their parents. I would sincerely like to tell the important parts of your history which led you to such strong beliefs.

And to show you I'm sincere, I'll readily admit I am one of the majority influenced by parents. My father worked tirelessly as a union tradesman, then a small businessman to make a life for our family of nine. He suffered several major financial setbacks at the hands of the uncaring 'bigger' businesses which realized but would not share huge profits from his work and ideas. He convinced me Roosevelt's depression policies, including Social Security were enormously important in building a middle class and preventing a fabulously wealthy elite from controlling everything. He explained in detail how the 'socialist' label on Roosevelt was meaningless and the McCarthy hearings, attacking people he labeled, the grandstandings of a disgraceful demigod. Seems to me there was a lot of truth to that.

Socialism has never worked. The Verona Project files pretty much exonerated McCarthy. Needless to say the media made little mention of it.

As Michael Savage says, "Democracy is a mental disorder." As well, most Democrats admitted or not are really progressives. I have never met a Democrat that did not like having his hand in your pocket.

Mc Carthy would have a heart attack if he could see who is in the White House.
