Flockin' Robins...

Wow, hundreds of Robins outside my house today...flying around like crazy, engaging in aerial battles with the mocking birds. Maybe it's a sign that Spring is returning to the Villages?

Sorry to say for you Northerners but it'll be a long time before you'll see them up the east coast in DC and beyond.

They were in my back yard last week, where in the Villages do you live?

Robins at Lake Sumter Landing

. . . they were in the town center today, all along the cart path between Canal Street and SweetBay. Happy Spring!

They were all of a sudden swarming in my yard up here in NW FLA last week when the snowy weather came through. They stayed for a day or so and then left as fast as they came. I guess they headed further south.

I was driving up Buena Vista this morning and saw flocks of robins all along the boulevard. What a welcome sight!

Are those the little birds I've seen swarming all over the place?
The birds I've seen are a bit small for the Robins I'm used to.
Are they one and the same?

What a sight! First, 5 robins in my neighbor's tree. Here they come, in ones and twos. Now there's 10. Here come some more. Too many to count. At least 50. Oh, how pretty! No leaves on this tree but a beautiful swarm of red breasts with brown bodies. (Some even California size. lol) No, wait, don't fly away! I want to take a picture.

HEY!!!! Come back and clean up the mess you left on my car, my driveway, my golf cart.

Hmmm ... wonder where they found purple berries this time of year?

Well, I did like 'em when they first landed (De La Vista West here).

there was a large flock of 'em in Hemmingway, my dog started to chase them!

Spring is in the air..

I had squirrels flocking in my yard in NC last weekend. That outright display of spring fever will result in a bunch of squirrels scurrying around before long!

Sorry to be silly. We are headed to The Villages later today and I am bored and giddy waiting on my better half to finish work!!

Thirsty Robins????

They were all over our house and the area we live in. I could see some of them were thirsty. I went outside to clean out a very tiny garden decoration that contained slimy green water a few robins sought out. By the time I put out some big planter saucers filled with water, they were gone! Up North, they love our bird bath and spend a lot of time taking baths in it. I was sorry to see them leave so quickly. I must have frightened them!
