Height and Width of tunnels for carts?

Would anyone happen to know the height and width of the tunnels??? Thanks so much for any help.

They are not all exactly the same. The only reason to be concerned with height would be if you have or want a lifted cart. Width shouldn't be an issue for any cart. I do see lifted carts now and then so most tunnels are okay for that but I would not assume all are.

A Ford Explorer will get stuck.:ho:

Thanks! I'm wondering specifically about an LSV golf cart!
I appreciate your input!

You can always count on a Ford Explorer to get stuck somewhere.

Tunnels north of 466 are lower in height. My standard Yamaha four seater's roof will hit if I don't hug the middle. No problem south of 466.

Why don't you tell us the brand and model? Current owners can tell us their first-hand experiences.

I'm not really sure! I posted for a friend, and he just asked if LSV golf carts would fit in the tunnels..rather, what the height and width are...

pauld315 10-18-2018 07:39 PM

Not wide enough for the people with things like GEM's to be going through. They are the width of many small cars and should not be allowed on 2 way cart paths, tunnels etc. They are 55 inches wide while a Yamaha Golf cart is about 48 inches. Many of the tunnels in the north end are pretty narrow.

They are yay high and so wide.

The tunnels roof have angle slant to it, you’re two seater is no different than any other cart in height unless you’ve jacked iit up? You have to huge the center when entering in any cart. You can see all the damaged stucco at the corner where carts have smacked the tunnel by turning too close to right.

Some people just can’t drive or watch where their going, behind driver and when exiting the tunnel and going around smacked the concrete divider dead center. IMO it I was going to buy used cart I would check out the under carriage real good?

Since the purpose of a LSV is to be able to drive on the roads within The Villages, why would you be driving on the Multi Modal paths and going through those tunnels?????

collie1228 11-04-2018 09:12 AM

Tunnels north of 466a tend to be close, dark and sometimes damp. Conversely, south of 466a they are wider, more open and must be better drained as they never seem damp. Another amenity that The Villages improved as they moved south. They learn from their mistakes.

Here is a bit from the CDD website:

"Who is allowed to use the multi-modal paths throughout The Villages?” This is a question that the District receives on a regular basis. The multi-modal paths are for use by NON-AUTOMOTIVE, non-vehicular traffic such as bicycles, golf carts, pedestrians, and skaters. It is not legal…nor is it smart…to drive vehicles such as smart cars, motorcycles, or mopeds on any of the multi-modal paths in The Villages. For additional information, please click on the header of this announcement to read a memo from District Counsel regarding the use of multi-modal paths.
