Yellow fencing at Lake Sumter Square
 

Anyone know what the yellow fencing is for at LSL with the warning sign about 24hr. video and audio surveillance within that small area? Saw it a few weeks ago and then again the other night.

Awhile back the fencing was part of the operation to replace the roof over the sales center/Panera, etc. Workers had their crane and lift set up there.

This is on the Red Sauce/City Fire side of the square and is blocking the entrance to both ends of a wide walkway through landscaping towards the stage.

There was a pergola there, we thought maybe it needed rebuilding. However, all they have done is fence the area off, it's been like that for over a month? There doesn't seem to be any hurry on the Villages part to finish whatever they are doing there.

Not strange. Villages construction has been the target of thieves in the past. Guess they just want to make sure that their construction materials don't stray.

We were told all of the roofs on the building surrounding the square are being replaced. This might be the reason for the yellow tape blocking off the walk.

There is no equipment in there; it's inside the perimeter walkway where the vendors set up on market night; the fences are blocking a walkway that's at most 25' long.
