Another restaurant coming to Grand Traverse
From the Daily Sun Facebook page:
"Brownwood’s reputation for good eats just grew a little larger with Dickey’s Barbecue Pit leasing a storefront at Grand Traverse Plaza at Brownwood. Franchise owners Johnathan & Stephanie Frederick anticipate an early first quarter opening next year. World War II veteran Travis Dickey opened the first restaurant in 1941 in Dallas. The company now operates more than 500 locations in 44 states." |
Fast food or sit/order/eat?

slows bbq in Detroit, is our favorite, it’s a 45 minute drive, but worth it. Bbq is regional, so it is hard to tell who will like Dickey’s or not. |
Being from Ft Worth I am very familiar with Dickies. It sounds as though it is the same one. I am eager to try it. It wasn’t the best Barbecue in town but it was good. My son went to high school with their daughter.

Oboy! We had one in KC and ate there quite a bit; a lot better flavor than Oakwood here.

Had one back home. Meat was good. I renamed the potato salad "mustard pudding".

I agree with thelegges about Dickies (pretty good for fast food BBQ) and Slowes in Detroit.

Gone
There was one in Wildwood on US 301 in 2007. It bit the dust!

Wish they had a Big Ed’s BBQ from Matawan, NJ here.
