Danny Murtaugh, manager Pittsburg Pirates
 

Danny's granddaughter has written a book about him She is doing a booksigning in Bradenton on March 17th. Her mother and father live in The Villages. Does anyone have any ideas of how she can make the availabilty of this book known to people here? I understand Danny was quite the character so I am sure the book will be an enjoyable one. I remember Danny Murtaugh from the 50s and early 60s when I was really into baseball, even more than I am today. I think that he was the manager in 1960 when the Bucs beat my Yankees in the World series.
You might be able to generate some interest in the book by contacting the Pittsburgh Club and the various Pennsylvania clubs here in The Villages. Maybe the author could give a presentation at one of the meetings.
Also, maybe Barnes and Noble could do something to promote the book, like setting up a special display near the store entrance, or even a book signing event, if they determine that there is enough interest in TV for that narrow of a subject matter.
