What is the Development District Assessment?
 

I'm new to this thread, and not yet living in The Villages (I will soon, I hope). I am familiar with the bond that is paid on each property, but I do not know what the Dev't District Assessment is...is it the same thing as the bond, or is it an additional expense to help with growth and infrastructure? Is it a "forever" payment, or a finite amount? Please advise.

This comes on the tax bill and is called Asmt-Maint. I don't know what the charge is based on (i.e. value,location etc). Ours is almost $500 and then there is the fire district charge of $81 also on the tax bill along with the bond payment.
