Bad experience: “A Step Above” irrigation

They advertised a special for $39 for irrigation services. It was a disaster! The technician ignored stones blocking the sprinkler heads from rising, didn’t test the rain sensor, changed my timer from 2 days per week to one day, and set it on a non-scheduled day. He added two risers at $9 each. He also said I needed seven sprinkler heads replaced at $36 each (I passed). When he departed he forgot to turn the system back on!
Two days later I realized the system was off. I turned it on and checked the system. The two newly installed risers were now leaking extensively. I called the office and left a message that it needed to be fixed. Every time I have called the office I’ve always gotten voicemail. After a week nobody returned my call, so I called Water Wizard and they were outstanding! The technician said I did not need new sprinkler heads, which cost eight dollars each and not $36. He replaced the two leaking risers, adjusted sprinkler heads, set the timer, and tested everything for $106. I was very impressed with their service. So, A Step Above was “A Step Below” for me.

Sprinkler heads cost about $8 but $30-35 is the going rate installed, however a rip off if you didn't need them.

Sprinkler heads just screw on. No tools required. You can buy them at ACE Hardware for about $3 each. $252 to replace 7 heads is absurd. It really pays to learn a few basic things about your sprinkler system, so you can do simple adjustments yourself.

Rotor heads are about $10 and need to be dug up to be replaced, and flushed out if any dirt has gotten in the line.
Hence the going rate of about $30 to replace a rotor head.

I posted a very bad experience with A Step Above Lawn, Pest and Irrigation before your posting. They did a very bad job on my lawn maintenance.
