Is health care reform Obama's agenda item or the party agenda?

How about yet another flash back:

Oh I forgot, that was when he was running for office and trying to schmooze voters why they should choose him.

Hopefully all who elected him have seen or are at least beginning to see that he says what ever you want to hear to accomplish his objective.
In that practice he is very consistent....words....no action....no results.

Still little has been written or said about why he would continue to pursue a bill that has been proven multiple times to be an unpopular bill with we the people. Up to and including the farse summit of last week where he announced we will do what we need to do to pass the bill.....and in so many words if you don't like it don't vote for us.

WHY??????

What I dont understand is that the Republicans agree that there should be changes to Health Care yet they were in power for 8 years and did nothing about it until the Democrats decided now is the time???:shrug:

Actually, they were in power for about 6 years and offered a number of health care proposals....

Perhaps you may want to read this...a fairly unbiased look at how the Democrats treated his proposals (President Bush) (please read the footnotes when the article mentioned it being stopped in congress..gives you a good idea). It presents the good points and the bad points, but your statement is extremely flawed relative to, especially the last administrations, trying to enhance health care, make it more affordable and more available !

by the way this article dates to 2004 while our current President was campaiging for the senate...

Bucco, I enjoyed reading the article and took away a history lesson. Here are two links from a New York Times piece that offers a timeline of "A History of Overhauling Health Care." The two links I found interesting are articles from 1989 and 1994. Deja vous all over again.

Thanks for the links BK

For those who are so PARTY oriented, health care reform was NOT invented by the Democratic party, and was not invented in the last year alone.

Some manner of reform has been fostered by both parties since the mid 40's, and ALWAYS seems to be more political motivated than anything or at least turns into that.
