Cycling in the villages
 

I see events planned for the Relay for Life in The Villages to raise MONEY for the cause. Would be nice to see a big cycling ride for the same thing. I know the Livestrong Foundation does this for Cancer, they get quite a big gathering and raise alot of Money. Seems The Villages would be the perfect place for a event like that to help raise awareness for Cancer..

Because of the income demographic of today's cycling enthusiasts, it is
of great benefit to TV and area business to showcase the community and it's oportunuties for the sport.
A regional tandem rally drew 200 couples in October.
We were not the only ones to drink the Gatorade and now are the proud owners of a rental cottage and a second place we hope to use as home as soon as we cut a few more tethers.

I agree with you. A big event like a cycling charity ride starting and ending in The Villages would attract alot of riders, people and future home owners on top of raising funds for research. I am hoping to go to the Livestrong Challenge in Austin Tx this year. Be nice to have something like that here..
