Holy Moly Batman, is that a CAR on the MMP?

Driving into Spanish Springs along El Camino this evening about 5:30. Husband says “there’s a car behind us!”

Sure enough someone was leaving Freedom Point and turned onto the MMP instead of onto El Camino. As soon as the next drive onto the street came up, the driver exited the MMP onto the street.

We checked and it had a FL license plate.

Oops!

Wasn't the first, won't be the last

Yes, I have seen this twice before in the area of Pinellas Place and Buena Vista. Maybe they forgot they were NOT in their golf cart.....

Makes me wonder:

Is the driver required to wear a seat belt on the MMP?
Will the cars blinker turn off after making a turn on the MMP?
Does the license plate have their favorite football team on it?
Are their first names printed on the front of the car?
Are there golf bags strapped to the rear bumper, with a sand bottle on one side and a cooler on the other?

I could go on and on with this one : )

That is why we have compact cars.

I've seen them on the opposite side of El Camino MMP across from freedom Point.:ohdear: I watched one start down the tunnel, backs up and reverses and goes left down the path. Two other carts had to drive up on the grass to avoid getting hit. We couldn't get her attention, just staring straight ahead.

OK i'll admit it...been there, done that...:) When we were first looking at TV we pulled out of Mallory CC went to the right and came to a tunnel??? My wife said that she didn't remember going through a tunnel to get to Mallory...OOPS...

Can't criticize. I've done it. I had my mind focused on something else and must have imagined I was in a golf cart. Very embarrassing.

Bjeanj 01-02-2019 10:41 AM

Yes. When I have, on occasion, hopped in my car, I’ve had to mentally think “ NOT golf cart. Don’t drive in cart lane.”

Topspinmo 01-02-2019 11:06 AM

I’ve turned on the MMP on my scooter not paying attention, rec center has MMP close to street exit and if the 4x4 PVC stop sign broke off I can see the confusion.

Then there is the other side, those that thought they were in their car, through the gate and into the roundabout.
