Say, I'm wondering how one goes about buying a getaround car from a private owner in TV? The Sun seems to have lots of dealer ads, but where are the private sales?

Do a private sale transaction at the license bureau. Some states will allow you to drive the car home when you purchase it......Florida will not.
You must have insurance, proper tags and registration before moving it.
That is why most people go with a dealer.....they will do the paperwork so that you can drive it home.

Are you looking for a car? I'm not sure what a getaround car is? My wife is considering selling her Prius. We no longer have a need for two cars.

How about a smart car? There is a dealer in Orlando. They are not much bigger than a golf cart, but they are a real car.
