Courtyard Villa Grantham Model Question
I'm hoping that someone owning a Grantham model could answer a question for us. We cannot figure out some of the light switches and what they're for. As you walk into the main living area from the foyer, there are three wall switches. In the hallway across from the guest bathroom, there are two wall switches and on the living room wall by the slider to the lanai there are three wall switches. One switch from all three (we believe) are connected - but to what??? Also, one switch on the wall by the slider to the lanai operates both the fan on the lanai and the outside motion detector lights. Weird.

If one of the switches has a red colored screw, then it operates whatever is plugged into a corresponding outlet in the room that has a red screw so you can turn on lights when you enter the room.

Graham Model
I own this model and where is the best place for the TV? I would like my TV on the big wall when you come in. I do not want my couch in the middle of the floor because that space is so tight there with the bar stools.
Can someone kindly give me suggestions on placement of my 50" TV. |
Thanks Logdog, would that red screw be inside the wall recepticle? There are no red screws on the surface of the outlet plate.
|
It would have been visible on the surface. I don't have a Grantham. I assumed TV standardized their wiring. Guess not...

Walt, can't wait to hear if you are able to solve this mystery. Thanks

you probably could have figured this out on your own but we don't have a red screw but have a small red circular sticker on the wall switch and one on the wall plug that it corresponds to, remember you have to plug the lamp into the right plug on the wall usually the top one....gn

Hi Peazoup,
As GN said, we also just have the little red dot (not screw). There is a corresponding red dot on a wall outlet and the the light switch does turn on and off a lamp we plugged into the corresponding outlet. Try it and see if that works. |
light switch
There are 3 light switches that tie to ONE outlet. It sounds crazy, but I like the way it works. It is the outlet located on the wall between guest bathroom and living room, living room side.
If you plug a lamp into the RED dotted outlet, you can turn your lamp on from the switch located next to lanai, one in kitchen and one in hallway. I like this because I can easily light up the entire living room quickly when I come home or raiding refrig late at night. Furniture placement: We have our tv on the same wall described above, one between guest bathroom and living room. We have sofa against wall where lanai door is, and two recliners facing tv and assorted side chairs. Just an idea. |
Thanks everyone for your input. There is a blue dot above two of the three switch plates in question but we can't find the corresponding outlet. HELP!!! Also, does anyone else have one switch that operates both the lanai fan and the exterior motion detector lights?
|
Found it!!! Thanks so much for all the info. We found the outlet connected to the three wall switches. It was behind a large piece of furniture exactly where Salpal said it would be.

Placement of furniture
Thank you for your answer. It was kind of you.
