R I P Jack Bogle
He revolutionized the mutual fund industry!
5 Pieces of Advice From John Bogle - The New York Times I hope this was not previously posted by someone else. I could not find any post on it and have been on a road trip not checking TOTV much. |
Not too many like him -- perhaps Fidelity's Peter Lynch in his heyday. He, like Warren Buffet, had good common sense for the everyday investor.
RIP Jack. |
I've followed Bogle's advice for over thirty years, and it has served me well, through thick and thin. He invented the S&P 500 index fund despite the disparaging "experts" at the time. I've stayed invested conservatively, mostly in low-cost index funds, and despite the occasional market correction, I'm very happy where I am right now financially. He was s great man who should have his statue outside 11 Wall Street. He is truly the person most responsible for the "little guy" being able to reach for the American dream.
