Walgreens vs. CVS

Sold our home in one day and moving to Belvedere permanently in June!
Yippee!! How lucky are we?

Now, in process of putting together a plan to move and attempt to remember everything. We will be close to both Walgreens and CVS when we move. I want to transfer our records to one of them.

Does anyone prefer one over the other? Is one less expensive than the other? Thanks in advance.

I've been a CVS customer for a long time. When I moved to tv last July, I went to the on on 441 near Spanish Springs. They've had a difficult time getting everything straight. They recorded my birthdate wrong and it has made it difficult for me to renew prescriptions twice, although they told me both times they were correcting it. I'm staying with them because it's convenient and hoping it'll get better. The people in the pharmacy are very nice. My husband uses Publix which has been fine but they are slow in getting refills ready and I don't like that they don't have a drive-thru!

For prescriptions I prefer mail order anyway. At least for regular 90 day supply. I have Express Scripts and they are fantastic. No issues since the day I started with them over 6 years ago.

But for non prescription stuff I go to CVS since they are a local (up here in RI/MA) company.

Walgreen's man here as they have "Big Roll" toilet paper. Each roll lasts about 4 weeks. Wife hates it though...says it reminds her of wax paper...I accuse her of being too sensitive. I said that soft Charmin stuff is for sissys and costs a fortune. She said she is doing the paper goods shopping from now on. See, I am not as dumb as she thinks...now if I can get her to do my daily walk all would be great!

walgreen's

Walgreen's has a computer system that covers all their stores. If you fill a scrip in Wisconsin and move to the villages. The villages Walgreen can do the refill on that scrip.

:agree: It works very well.

I had to fill a prescription in Boca Raton on a visit about a year ago. Used Walgreens. When I needed a refill in Atlanta, itwas a breeze, as if I were refilling at the same location. I was very pleasantly surprised!

When I moved down here I used Walgreens they go out of there way to make sure everything is right. I vote Walgreens.

Welcome to TV. You have made a great choice! The Village of Belvedere is really incredible and so convenient to Southern Trace shopping. We love Belvedere and know that you will also.

I think CVS has the same wherever-you-go policy, but I've never tried it so I'm no sure. Used CVS for years in NY because it was the only game in town, but I'm now using Walgreens and no complaints.

I've tried both CVS and Walgreen in the Southern Trace area. I prefer Walgreen.

Also, the golf cart access from Belvedere to Parr Drive is a bit easier than going through two tunnels to get to CVS on CR 101.

Thanks for that info Barefoot, did not consider that. We will be living in Joanne's place, across from your former house. I am so excited and so busy getting stuff ready. There is a new senior retirement place near Walmart called Steeplechase. I am also moving my 88 year old Mom into there at same time, so two homes to pack and get ready. Mom is in a place like Steeplechase now and is looking forward to warmer weather. Steeplechase is going to cost her $1,000 a month less than her current retirement home here in Delaware. They both have same amentities and Steeplechase is brand new!! Lots to think of and do. Hope to meet you soon.
