Uber question
When last I lived in The a Villages in early 2017, Uber was around, but not in great numbers. We will be back for a month visit soon and I was wondering if the availability of Uber drivers has increased since then.

I was just here last week checking on Dad last week. There are more users now. Wait times were less than in Dec.

If you're in a hurry to get anywhere don't count on Uber here. There was a recent discussion about it here and I have been randomly checking my app just for the fun of it and 75% of the time there are none in the local area at all. When I do see one it is usually at the hospital and rarely have I seen more than 2.

I see more LYFT than UBER. Although I know that some drivers actually work for both companies. Recently I had to use LYFT from OIA (Orlando Airport) to TV due to late flight arrival, $76.00.

I would classify it as, limited.
Not sure about the posted stats of, 75% this or that. Including Wildwood...........there are 3 to 5 running. It's cheaper to rent a golf cart if you plans are within TV. |
Uber
I have to laugh: Reminds me of years ago:
1950s - my mother told me... NEVER get in a car with a stranger 1990s - mother said.... never meet up alone with someone you met on the internet 2018 - hop on the Internet and call for a ride in a car driven by a total stranger...... Makes sense to me, lol |
There is a local taxi (352) 751-2345 that are pretty good but I think a little expensive. $20 from LSL town square to Spanish Springs square.
|
Download the Lyft app also and you shouldn't have a problem getting one or the other....

I was charged $20 from Mallory Square to Brownwood. Ridiculous. He was prompt and polite.
