Question about loading PODS
We are putting everything in a couple PODS for our move to TV and renting while we look for a house. Silly question of the week: Can I pack my cleaning stuff in a tote and load it in the POD? It would be my extra Windex, Comet, Mr. Clean, etc. No aerosol cans. Opinions, please?

If your concern is that they may leak or open during storage then I can answer that based upon our experience. We placed items such as you noted in our POD, had it stored in CT and then delivered to TV some seven weeks later. Those items were packed in plastic bags and then into cardboard boxes. We found no problems when we unpacked the POD. Happy packing!

We used PODs in our move and had no problems with those items. Good luck

Bad Luck can alter the situation. I haven’t used a pod. However I have had 8 corporate moves. In one where our stuff was stored in a container. (similar to pods; overseas move) condensation built up on the inside and it dripped on our stuff. A box of Laundry soap was in a packing box on the top and we opened the thing there was a film of soap on everything in that area. It was probably a fluke but I wouldn’t risk it.

Between plastic bags and those inexpensive plastic containers you see everywhere, there should be no leakage or spills.

WE used 2 PODS from Va to TV .....if his is your only issue, believe me you have no problems. You can pack anything you want in a POD but prepare it properly.
If you ar using 2 or more pods how are you scheduling them to be unpacked. The POD guy would not drop 2 PODS in our driveway (Designer with golf cart garage)and I almost got arrested for I had professional unpackers comming the next day. There are chllenges in alomst all moves so dont sweat the small stuff.. |
