For plants such as Hosta which they love, a ring of cyanne pepper works just fine-they don't like hot food. |
For snails I've used Ortho Bug-getta. Worked great. Stopped an infestation on my lime tree.

Not sure about mushrooms - but for the snails, simply continually yell out S-CAR-GO!!!
|
Mushrooms grow where it is especially damp, or stays damp. Try to improve drainage at that spot? And remove any pile up of dead leaves or other matter.

Thank you. We've tried beer in a shallow dish and another home remedy. But as I understand it, down in the soil are developing baby snails. Which is why I was hoping for a spray for the soil.

The OP says black snakes like escargot. We have at least one black snake. My snakes have no class as stated no beer here. |
I doubt they are mushroom? Probably toad stool? If you put down compost the toad stools probably came in it and most like the soil too moist?

Don't Overwater with Mulch!
Quote:
Noooooooooo . . . Do NOT get rid of the mulch! Mulch is a far better than stones and/or rock which bake your plants and shrubs in the sun because they hold the heat. Over time, mulch disintegrates and adds nutrients to the soil and you will not have to water as frequently or as much. |
