Directions please...

As a newby to the Villages, I rely on GPS to get around outside the bubble. Our last trip from the airport in Orlando took almost 2 hours to Brownwood.

I need to go to the airport again soon. What is the quickest route (tolls are OK) from the Lake Deaton Plaza area? Thanks!

Buena Vista Blvd (south) to 44 (west) to 301(south)
301 to Florida's Turnpike (south)
Stay on the Turnpike until you reach Exit 254 (FL 528)
Stay on FL 528 to Exit 11. Follow signs to the airport.

Are you talking about the main airport in Orlando or the one in Sanford. Sanford can take almost 2 hours.

The main airport is usually 1 hour and 10 minutes from Brownwood or Lake Deaton Plaza using the turnpike and 528..

Your GPS might be taking you southeast on 44, but you should backtrack on 44 thru Wildwood.

Morse Blvd 468 to rt 501, left on 501 to dead end rt. 470 left onto 470 to south turnpike, 528 to airport should take 1 hour from your location.

Agree completely. If you don't have SunPass I recommend you buy one. Avoids lines at the toll booths and saves a little on the tolls. Also, you can get on their website and activate paying for parking at the airport.

I've used both routes (301 to the turnpike & 468) both to and from the airport. For where I live (Lake Deaton), 301 is typically a few minutes quicker.

OP, double check the settings on your GPS, for example if you have 'shortest distance' set this may not be the 'fastest time' route. I just found this out when my GPS was somehow switched from fastest time to shortest distance, we were coming from a location in Orlando I was not familiar with but the GPS was not taking us to 408. I stopped and checked the settings, and the estimated time to arrival changed over 25 minutes.
Also, make sure it is NOT set to avoid 'tolls', and Google maps will give you 2 or 3 options for your travel and you can print out directions if you need to.

Let’s not make a mountain out of a mole hill. Take the Turnpike to 528. Good grief.

Suggest you get a good recent PAPER map. That works fine and "gives you the picture", the RIGHT picture.

Meant to be informative.

Where can you buy a "Good recent PAPER map"?

I did round trip to Orlando airport this morning. My opinion the last thing to need is a paper map trying to read and watch the road or listen to someone else try to interpret the map, especially in and around Orlando. Use your GPS it will give you a good picture and it will zoom when there are 2-3 roads converging.

Rully. Tried that Morse thing once only because passengers in the car said it was a new great way they discovered. It took longer. Turns out they don't like to drive on freeways.

If you are not a member of AAA for a free map, can buy a map at Barnes and Noble.
