WGC Match play, Tiger?, Jordan?, Phil?

Who is going to win this Sunday,

My favorite is Jordan Speith, but, but......

Will Tiger add to his already 18 wins?

ColdNoMore 03-27-2019 12:34 PM

With the next closest being Dustin Johnson...with 6.

Dustin Johnson wins WGC-Mexico Championship

It’s Johnson sixth career WGC victory, and he’s second to only Tiger Woods’s 18.

Phil Mickelson and Geoff Ogilvy are tied for third with three WGC titles.

Rory looks like a good bet.

I wouldn't bet against him that's for sure, but at this point...I'm rooting for the 'old man' Kuchar.

I also think that Woodland might turn out to be a spoiler...and take it all.

If Stenson keeps striking his irons, like he's known to do...he could be tough to beat also.

I do like the current format though, that gives hope to those who might lose a match and still be in it...instead of 'one and done.'

Tiger against McIlroy!

Hopefully, it will live up to its potential...and turn out to be a classic.

Not necessarily great golf...but great drama.

Tiger up by 2 right now (being DVR'd, just finished 12)...so GO Tiger!

Wonderful drama. New guy beats "has been" on the last hole and another old guy has a temper tantrum meltdown on the course. I think I'll watch tomorrow.

It should be exciting!

This course is certainly a great venue for match play, as it doesn't favor any particular type of player...and makes for some great drama.

The Tiger / Rory match was exciting and I'm sure drew a huge TV audience. Tiger made a huge mental error on 13 and you could see that he back was tightening up when the rain and cold blew in. He got away with that mistake and I was surprised that he was able to finish strongly.

The Tiger / Bjeergaard match also would have draw a huge audience. You could see how Tiger was getting tight and tired toward the end when he lost a few holes. He again made a big tactical on the 18th hole which cost him the match or at least an opportunity for extra holes.

With the guys that are left, I think that the television audience will be way down. Tiger, Rory, DJ, Thomas, Speith and a few others are the only ones that really draw an audience. With all of them gone, I'm sure that the PGA Tour, The WGC and NBC are all disappointed with the final four.

Too bad. It was interesting for two days. Now, not so much.
