Villages homee insur. up and now progressive

Ugh! Never submitted a claim, what's up????? In 2 years, increased 25%!!!!!! Wish there were other options. Sinkhole coverage makes this difficult.
Got us between a rock and a hard place.:boxing2:

Why don't you have other options? I would look for an insurance broker and ask him to shop your insurance needs with a few companies.

We were at Villages Ins. last month and they recommended and switched us over to Metropolitan. Metropolitan recently started selling home owners in Florida again.

I st question our agent asked us, "do you have a shingle roof", answer, "no, tile", agent was going to see if that changes rate. Will ask her about Metropolitan we had essurance until it was changed to progressive.

You should shop at each renewal. You/we tend to believe I've been a good customer, no claims, paid on time etc etc etc.
The truth is they decide you are happy, you will not change so they can charge you more. They have and use lower rates to attract new customers.

In another post a tile roof was mentioned compared to a typical shingle roof. Different companies may charge more or less for the tile roof. I would assume it is more resistant to blowing embers form a fire close by. It is also more difficult to correct leaks and more expensive to replace. Not sure if it raises your insurance cost or lowers it. I would expect in your insurance document which few read there is a cap on repairs. Like Las Vegas, the odds always favor the insurance company.

I shopped around, villages insurance was too high for what you got IMO. I went elsewhere.
