We Even Love TV' Water Tower
Ahhh, what a place to live. At night . . . a full moon. My loving spouse at my side. And . . . . The Villages Water Tower. From our part of Florida's Friendliest Hometown it looks just like a huge, friendly, loving white heart leading us home to Palo Alto.
Anybody else in love with our heart-shaped water tower at night? I guess it's just the lights from below playing tricks on us, but it sure makes a romantic and loving site at night. :o |

OK...I see mushrooms in the sky. Not very romatic. They are great landmaks when negotiating around town. I do wish they were color coded so we could determine on from another.

They should have the names of their Village on them.

I think they look wonderful at night. Great idea, the heart.

The traditional heart shape was derived from the plant seed of the Silphium plant. This now extinct (for over two millennia) North African plant was found in the ancient city of Cyrene during the seventh century BC. The plant was most commonly used as seasonings, but was also widely used as a contraceptive in ancient Egypt. Because of it's importance to their economy, they depicted the shape of the seed on their coins. The seeds were distinctly heart-shaped. It is said that because of the use of the plant as a contraceptive, the shape of the seeds became associated with sexuality and eventually with romantic love.

When you drive at night in the Palo Alto area, the water tower looks like it is heart-shaped. It is caused by the way the lights below are positioned to illuminate the tower
I thought other people would have noticed this, too, but I guess not. |
Like some one mentioned I use them for guidelines as to where I am. Never noticed them at night. But it does sound romantic.
