OTA Antenna Success in Dunedin?
.
My very specific question; I am in the Village of Dunedin and am curious if anyone in Dunedin is getting their local channels using an antenna? If so, would you share what antenna you are using and how good is the reception. And yes, I have read the many threads on OTA and cord cutting. Thank you. |
Too specific
A village is 4-600 acres or so. From a broadcast signal strength perspective that is nothing. You can easily take input from anyone within a few miles radius and get exactly the same results.

I relocated the antenna to point towards Ocala which works better. |

Nope |
OTA antennas work in The Villages but at 60 plus miles away from the transmission towers, height is the key. Get an ultra long-range antenna, point it between 115 and 120 degrees and get up in the air as high as you can.

I live in Dunedin on Piney Woods Path.I get about 65 channels, but eliminated about 35. Good reception.
I get NBC, ABC, CBS. PBS +. I used Home Audio & Video Sales to install my attic antenna. He charged $250. U need a strong antenna, good for 65 miles. It's pointed 114* to Orlando & Sanford. The antenna that was used is around $100 & the amplifier is about $35. U could do it yourself. |

In my case I get all the channels that are in that direction. To get more channels you would need 2 antennas or a multi directional antenna. My reception is very clear 99% of the time. If your reception was bad or channel limited, then put up a high outside antenna.

Thank you all for the input. I have ordered an antenna and will see how it goes.

Post about it when you do, my hubby is really interested in the results too.

That seems to be a problem with 9.
