Privacy murials for screened in Lanai

Hi,
I have been to open houses where they had a murial of a tropical scene from the inside of the birdcage but couldn't see into the lanai from outside. Does anyone know what that is called or who near TV may sell these? TYIA

They probably call it a "privacy screen with a painted mural." :D Google is your friend, just type in those words at Google. Lot's of info there. If you type MURIAL instead of MURAL you might get some NSFW photos!

Here one, seems Lowes sells them: Printed Gazebo, Patio & Garage Door Backdrop Screens, I wonder if they would be permitted if viewable from the front of ones home? Pretty cool though.

Thank you - I didn't think the spelling was correct... LOL

There is a company in TV that installs your ideas or theirs. I just saw their van last week. Sorry but the name escapes me. Try online phone book.

A little history here. Screen painting is a folk art that was popular in the early 20th century in Baltimore. It was started by immigrants and at one time there were over 100,000 painted screens in the row houses of Baltimore. Always wanted to take a class in this.

I have seen a merchant at Market of Marion with a booth showing this product. I can't remember which section it is in.

Except sadly, like much real art it has turned commercial and you can buy them at big box stores printed in China.

What does the “architectural review” have to say about these? Anyone know? Are these allowed? What if it is not visible from the street?

Sorry, I just have no experience and this (if allowed) could solve some lanai privacy questions.

Thanks in advance!

There's one on a lanai on Ft. Walton #4; it's not one I would want on the back of my 3/4 million dollar plus home (if I had one). :ohdear: It looks tacky.

We recently purchased Lantana with pool on cult de sac. Original owners put the mural on birdcage for privacy. Bushes are now full grown.

We re-screened birdcage after purchase (removal mural), which allowed airflow throughout area.

If you are considering a mural, it will reduce airflow to lanai.
