Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced a/c annual maintenance company?
Thanks

And could replies include what is done during a maintenance visit? Just purchased a used home, also want to get an annual plan, would like to know what it includes, and when we should schedule a visit -before the summer season, in the winter?? thank you!

We have had Sunshine Maintenance for several years and had one minor repair.(replace capacitor valve or switch) We like them and trust them.

I also highly recommend Farrell

I've never had a maintenance contract or service. I change the filters myself, make sure the condensate drain is dripping, and that the outside unit coils are not dirty. These are very simple DIY tasks. If the system stops working, I have it repaired. I don't think there is anything an HVAC technician can do to predict or prevent a breakdown, or to extend the life of your system.

Another vote for Farrell.

We use Sunshine.

Sunshine installed ours new.

Check to see if there are any warranty considerations.

Good Luck.

And another vote for Chuck Farrell (never heard him called Charlie before).

We use Chuck Farrell as well. He has a very strong reputation for honesty.

I also believe this to be true. No lubricatable parts. Every time you check refrigerant pressures you lose some refrigerant. You might detect a capacitor going bad and change it before it fails.

Is there anybody with industry experience who can explain why annual maintenance is necessary?

lesser160@aol.com 04-17-2019 06:41 AM

Isn't annual maintenance required in order to keep the warranty valid?

No, there is no specific requirement by the major equipment manufacturers and their authorized dealers.
