Flooding in Tenn.

It looks like the main stream media is just realizing there were tornadoes and devastating flooding in Nashville, Kentucky and Mississippi. It started on May 1.

My sister-in-law and 11 year old niece came to visit me this week from Nashvile, Tenn. Well actually, they live in one of the hardest hit areas of the flooding in the town of Lebanon, Tenn. My brother is still working but school was cancelled so my girls came to NC. I have them at Myrtle Beach, SC, as I type.

She has shown me photos and local videos of the flooding and devastation that are heartbreaking. There has been more death and destruction than the oil spill in the Gulf will ever produce.

The people there are not waiting on the government to pick them up. I think Obama said something about it yesterday or the day before. The people in the Volunteer State are proving the truth in their name. They are cleaning up, volunteering and picking up without complaint. God bless these people as they put their lives back together.

The folks in TN like many of the non political spotlight sites

have a belief and saying....we start fixin' tomorrow....no need to wait and see who is going to do what.
There are pockets of those who still have our cherished core values unspoiled by politicians, special interest groups and assorted wackos.....yeah they still have that fast disappearing trait of doing what is RIGHT.....when it needs to be done. They are real people concerned about family, GOD and neighbors.
They are not entitlement oriented and they do not wait for handouts.

I speak from first hand experience.

OMG I hope your relatives are OK, BK. I am so proud of people who are do'ers and not complainers. I have no respect for able bodied people who whine and expect someone else to do for them.

God bless the good people in the Volunteer State!!!!!

Flooding in Tenn.

I'm here and saw it firsthand. No complaining, no waiting for the government to rescue everyone.

Rugged individules coming together to get er done. Tennesseans, clinging to our guns and Bibles... and a few trees floating by.

Indeed. Our property is on high ground so we were spared. Unfortunately others weren't so lucky.

Why the media gave the Nashville flood little attention.

So sad....and very brave

It's just such a shame that we don't have a President in the White House to blame for government inaction. It's not like he's Bush or anything:)

Thanks Islandgal... Nice to see the American spirit alive and well in Nashville!
