How long to build a house in TV

I think my salesman said you had to start building on the lot 3 or 4 months after you purchase it. Does that sound correct?

Also what is the standard build time from signing contract to closing (not accounting for weather delays etc)? Thanks Ken

As of now there is quite a backlog, designer meetings are booked out to October and then 3 to 4 months for the build so you're looking at February 2020 completion. Two of our friends just bought lots and that is the schedule they were given.

Time to build isn't the issue because you can't know when the Villages will start building your house, and your home and many others are built at the same time. But, when you sign the contract to build your home, the contract will include a closing date. The Villages has a reputation for never missing a closing date.

3 months

Back in 2013, it was you had to start building in 6 (six) months after purchasing a lot, and the completion was 3 months or less, ours took 80 days. You should be able to confirm the current requirements with a call to any of the sales offices.

I didn't know they were scheduling so far out with design planning now. We were given our closing date when we signed our contract. The rule of thumb is anywhere within 3-4 months from contract to closing. August 6 is our date. Sooooo excited:a040:

As of this week October is the earliest you can schedule with the design team. They must be selling more lots than normal with 4 different villages open for construction now, there are no building lots left in Fenney and I don't believe there are any left for sale in DeSoto either.

So when you say “designer” meeting,is that for a designer series home or to pick your flooring, counters, lighting options etc?

Ok thanks, just making sure.

I bought a lot in Monarch Grove last week but can't get into the design center until late Sept.

Just noticed that area is no longer showing in the map portion of the Villages App, so maybe pulling it off the table until they catch up?

Altavia 06-15-2019 09:09 PM

Anyone know what the Design Center process is like?.

I don't know how long the design phase, etc. takes but I have watched homes go up. From the time the first workers show up on the lot to finish is about 57 days. The houses are all built on a tight schedule and if a subcontractor does not meet the schedule they are replaced.

That's an impressive pace, they must have things very organized. The houses I have visited appear to be very well built. Thanks

They sold 82 lots last month, usual amount is 20.
