The "garage house" in Tall Trees

The unmentionable online newspaper has a view of the finished monster garage which ARC has allowed to be built in Tall Trees.

I have no dog in this fight. I do not live in Tall Trees. I never ever have a need to go through there, but oh my goodness how on earth did the owner get the ARC to give permission for this monstrosity to be built on the end of his existing home and garage. They have opened a Pandora's box for sure! I hope, for their neighborhood's sake, that the landscaping will be sufficient to hide most of this monster.

I am somewhat surprised that the neighbors have not resorted to legal action.

I hear NASA has applied to use it as a Vehicle Assembly Building

How will they utilize the leftover...unused area in the garage though?

:D

Actually think it looks ok....I bet there are a lot of folks that wish they had the extra room. As long as they are within the setbacks and aren't infringing on others property enhancing how one lives is up to us. If it's legal, it's legal. I also have no dog in this hunt, I just don't understand the issue unless it's envy.

Now there's room for a good sized coach house above it. Second stories have been approved.

I do agree. From the beginning I have thought, "what's the big deal?" I wish I could create more space.

There is room there for a neighborhood party when it’s raining.

I don't think that it's envy. The neighbors feel that this house now stands out as being very different, and thus unterupts the homogenous nature of the neighborhood. The same thing happened when a house was being expeanded on the historic side. I don't believe that they are bad people acting out of ill feeling.

I like it a lot..Money talks, and B.S. walks... Think it's for midnight basketball, you know keeping kids off the streets...

The owners must have some hobbies? Looks like more garage than house. But live and let live. Hardly something to get upset about.

Velvet 06-22-2019 12:01 PM

I am really curious what they are going to do with monster garage? Beside upsetting the neighbors.

I bet they have white crosses out front too.

Aha, you’re thinking they are going to hold services in the garage?
Didn’t know what the white crosses in TV represented before I thought something was buried in the ground a pet etc. But I think it is simply a Christian symbol, much better than what we have up north in some neighborhoods. For example, a huge statue of some Christian saint with a couple of blue life size Smurfs beside it for the kids. Roses with sunflowers planted side by side.... What’s a little white cross in comparison....

I think it looks fine. I wouldn't have a problem with it.

Met this gentleman in a restaurant a few months ago and he`s always been into cars and talked about them with much enthusiasm. Now he has a place for them. Did this legally so good for him. He seemed like a very nice person.
