Villages Gators

Does anyone know whether The Villages had most of the gators removed from our ponds? While I didn’t see one every day in the past, now I seldom see one. I don’t think they just voluntarily moved out. I always enjoyed the gator sightings.

I think they get a Summer Break and visit their relatives and friends over at the Wildwood Gator Preserve !

Saw one swimming today on Belle Glade....we need more gators so hope the mating season went well.

To hot for them

Crud. I thought somebody was starting a University of Florida sports fan club. :)

Seen two Friday at Bonita Pass cruising the pond.

My other half saw one on a diamond path on the way to golfing yesterday morning. There were two villages officials cars on either side of it...waiting for someone to come, I would imagine, to relocate it. If you golf, I think you'd see one from time to time sunning or swimming. I doubt we have a lack of them here as this is FL. The saying goes, if there's a body of water, more than likely there are gators in it.

Come to think of it...

...I'll have to agree with the OP.

It does seems that there are less around this year...even on the golf courses.

They already have a Gator Club for Uf in The Villages.

There is a 6-7 foot gator in my lake. I see him most days. I believe the "policy" is to remove them only if there is a complaint.

Excuse the off-topic question, but can you give me any more info on this? I have searched the Rec News and other places and have seen nothing really definitive. One looked promising, but the email address given does not exist (according to Google) and I'm still kinda looking around.

If there are ducks in the pond the gator is gone. When you see ducks out of the water the gator is swimming in the pond. Right now our pond has lots of ducks
