Driveway painting and ARC
Attempting to do things "the right way" and I am going to have my driveway painted at our new home (closing Sept 4th).
Is it necessary to file an ARC application form? Looking over the form requirements it appears a few things can't had prior to closing. Anyone have any experience with doing this before move in? |
I don't know about designer houses, but, if you have a courtyard villa, you are very limited. You need to use the approved colors and you cannot use pavers. They want the courtyard villas to be uniform.

Call ARC and ask, Villages Community Standards, 352-751-3912, there are slightly different requirements in different areas, so CALL to be sure. ARC approval is painless, you can fill out a form online (as I recall), at a minimum you can get the form online, fillout and email or drop off, no cost, approval is usually less than 2 weeks. If you include an email address you usually get an approval and a link to the stamped document.

Thanks, I will call them tomorrow. I am hoping to start on sept 5th - so, I better hurry!

Make sure that your concrete isat least 30 days old, it must be completely cured before any finish is applied.

If you have a courtyard villa, I would suggest you talk with some neighbors who have had their driveway painted. Typically, courtyard villas only have one or two approved colors because they want the courtyard villas to be uniform. You may not need ARC approval if their is a sample available showing the approved colors for your villa section. I think the colors need to be approved by a large majority of the homeowners in that villa section.
