Does Your Garage Flood

Greetings-

In The Villages Of Mc Clure or in any section of The Villages, has anyone experienced their garage floors flooding / getting wet after a heavy rain storm ?

Any suggestions on preventing rain water from entering the garage floor area ?

Thanks again ----

Did you have pavers installed? How much water are you talking about?

How much of the floor is flooding?

Garage floors should be self draining, 1/8" to 1/4" Of slope per foot is typical.

This has a safety element since liquid fuel needs to drain to outside if there is a leak or a fire.

If you set a D cell battery on the floor, it should roll all the way to the garage door without giving much if any help to start.

Sometimes they make the floor level next to the house for shelves/benches but it needs to slope starting from the cars front bumper back at a minimum.

Have you been able to determine where the water is entering your garage? As splashes said, contact the warranty folks, something isn't right.

Hello-

Actually my garage floor has not as of yet gotten wet due to heavy rain but as a part-time resident, I was wondering if it's safe to store items that can't get wet on the garage floor ? Thanks

Rule of thumb is not to store something that you care for that lays flat on the garage floor.

The garages are NOT humidity controlled, and while it is highly doubtful that you will get rain in the garage, you will get high humidity and this can be as bad or worse than rain. Be very careful what you store in the garage and the attic (very high temperatures in the summer).
