Health care

My wife is a healthy 60 year old on the verge of Retirement. Our goal is to move to the villages sometime in 2020.
We are looking the find an approximate
Cost for health care for her to Carry her to Medicare. Any information would be appreciated.

Speak to an independent insurance person. Once here you can attend a SHINE meeting as they go over options as well. When we were fixing to move we met with the former to get our ins. in place. We both were 65 though and that was before The Villages Health care was in place. Asking on a social media site, you will get a plethora of answers. I think that would be further confusing.

Before Medicare age. Affordable Care is all that is available at reasonable cost. Hope we don't lose it.

Do your research because healthcare via the Affordable Care Act is anything but affordable unless you have a near poverty level income

So true, Obamacare is our biggest expense until we become eligable for medicare. Unless your income makes you eligable for federal subsidies, expect to pay about $1,100 per month for a good, low deductible plan or about half that for a plan with a high deductible/maximum out of pocket expense. That is a per person cost, not for a family plan.
I am in no hurry to get any older, except that we can't wait to become eligable for medicare, assuming it has not been gutted by the time we turn 65.

She should be eligible for a conversion contract from her current carrier if she has insurance through her employer.
