What kind of bug is this? I have never seen one like this before. It was crawling up the side of the house and I did not want to get too close. Hope the photo is clear enough for someone to identify.

Could be from the praying mantis family. It states they are not dangerous, in fact you can hold out your hand and they walk on it.
