Holy crap! Those poor folks in Bahamas, saying lots and lots of prayers! |

And to think that it might last for up to two days...simply boggles the mind. Even if I was sitting in the best prepared location on any of the islands, I can't even fathom having the wind screaming, rain by the feet and watching a potential 20 ft. storm surge, come onto an island that's highest points are about 10'-15' above normal sea level...for that long of time. :ohdear: On Edit: As was pointed out in another thread, this is incorrect, as this height above sea level actually only applies to Abaco's largest community...Marsh Harbor. Facts matter. :ho: |
Andrew vs. Dorian
According to Google, the top speed of Hurricane Andrew was 174 MPH, so it looks like Dorian has broken that record. That is certainly not a good record to break.

This thing is the mother of all storms. Praying for the People in the Bahamas. Hoping it makes a northeast turn very soon and never hits the USA mainland!
|
We are so far inland, we will feel very very little effect at all from this storm.
|
Our thoughts and prayers are with all affected.

Does thoughts and prayers help?

Put your arm out a car window doing 80 MPH. Now double that. Scary.

If they did we wouldn't have any more shootings.

I thank God every day that he gave me the free will to choose between good and evil and if you can find something wrong with a person keeping someone “ in their thoughts and prayers”, you are in need of some deep soul searching. I will also keep those affected in my thoughts and prayers.
