Resales in fenney
Seems like there are a lot of homes for resale in finney.Does anyone have thoughts as to why?
|
This has happened in every village and neighborhood. After the 1 year anti-flipping clause expires a percentage of people decide to sell for a number of reasons, too big, too small, miss the grand kids, buyer's remorse for an impulse buy, and lots of other reasons. It will be like this for about 2 years and then things will settle out, happens all the time. Not something I would worry about.

What the others said. I also think people buy and sell as they can make money. Maybe the shows on HGTV contribute a bit too. We know folks who've moved here and have moved more than the 3X that are purported to be the average Villager.
We haven't done this...yet. We've been here 10 yrs and are still in our 1st house. "IF" we were to move it would probably be to down-size a bit....less house and even less yard. We're in a smaller home now and the yard isn't all that large but as we age..we don't need so much anymore. |
Lots never learn TVs until they move here. Then they learn and wish they were somewhere else. I was pretty lucky.

We have purchased in two new villages, soon as the one year from purchase was up homes went up for sale. Since you can’t make a profit by selling before your year. Some in both neighborhoods bought for vaca homes, some found the garage too small, some still had their other home and finally sold. Some due to a passing. But there were those who bought, rented it and then sold for a profit.
So this has been the norm since we purchased in 2010. Fenney is in the same resale ballpark as other new villages |
We live in Fenney and know a lot of those who have sold, the reasons were as follows: Went from a villa to a designer (3 of them), went from a kissing lanai to a water view, poor health, moved back to family, didn't like a corner lot, moved from a cottage to a designer, moved from a cottage to a veranda, don't know of anyone that sold because they didn't like it down here. There are about 20 re-sales out of 1,400 homes in Fenney, that's less than 1-1/2% which is probably below normal.

Just wanted to add that in case you missed it, the last new home in Fenney sold last week.....

Sorry but I know 3 couples that bought in Fenney, one was very disappointed in the noise, construction and isolated area. The other wanted to live in the North off 466 area the other bought as an investment. For me sorry but I live between LSL & SS Squares the sweet spot of the villages. Fenney isn’t for everyone.

Exactly the reason we love living here....something for everyone!

When we moved here three years ago, we definitely did not even consider any house between Lake Sumter and Spanish Springs. We now live in Osceola Hills, but we drive down to the Fenney area several times a week because they have beautiful walking trails that DO NOT ALLOW GOLF CARTS. If you have not been to Edna's and Hogeye, you will be amazed how beautiful it is. The best thing The Villages has ever done. |

There's no place I'd rather be. Fenney is full of fun, kind people, most of whom would never disparage anyone else's home village. If you don't like Fenney, please stay away. We don't need your negativity here..

Everyone that I know that lives down south (of 44) loves it. After living in TV for two years for the first time I met someone who does not like living here (but her husband does and so they stay). Said it was too crowded! I laughed (native NYer and lived in HI for previous 10 years).
