Trimming granite counter top

I need to trim my granite counter top so my new refrigerator will fit.

Any suggesting on who to use?

You may have a difficult time finding a granite contractor who will do that. I have never seen it done. I hope you can find someone, but you may want to reconsider the refrigerator instead.

The counter top will most likely have to be removed to trim it.

A granite saw creates one heck of a dust storm and one would not want it done inside the house even if it were do-able.

Call one of the guys at Ultimate Granite on Rolling Acres road. They will tell you what has to be done.....if it can be done.

IF (and this is a BIG IF), the edge to be trimmed will be hidden by the refrigerator, the a hand held diamond blade angle grinder may to the job. As mentioned above this is a very dusty project, and the dust is extremely abrasive. I is most likely that a wet process could not be used. An alternative that is slower, but less dusty is to use a stone (carbide) blade in a reciprocating saw. If you can not find a company to do this, you may need to do this yourself. I have the tools, send me a PM if you would like to discuss further.

We investigated the same and finally decided to just go with the refrigerator that fits and put another fridge in the garage. Wasn't ideal but you know what, it works.

Just take your Ginsu knife and make a strait cut.

We had the same problem a few years ago. We called the people who put in our granite tops and they came out the same day, cut down the top and didn't charge us for it. I don't remember a lot of dust!
