Clubs in The Villages

How many of you are members of a club here in The Villages who collect dues or have other income of some sort (donations, etc) that have filed as a non profit 501 (c)(7) entity ?
Thanks

I belong to 3 clubs....all require a ridiculously low dues.

None of the clubs that I belong to have non profit status and still collect minimal dues.

My wife and I are members of the Opera Club and the club has a legal non profit status.

I think that any club that collects dues is supposed to. I attend four groups each week at Laurel Manor and none collects money for anything. The people who take responsibility for the group are true volunteers and I appreciate them each and all.

I would like to know the answer to the question, as well. I understand the clubs that don't have a bank account and collect minimal dues not filing, but what about the ones that have a bank account and, therefore, a Tax I.D. number?

Carla The opera Club has a Tax ID an accountant & Legal representation. We have no paid staff, all volunteers. Last year we raised and gave away $50,000 in scholarships, private music lessons at the high school, and various monetary awards in honor of some of our deceased members. I hope this answers your question? Len

OK, thanks Len. Your club is probably a 501(c)(3), charitable organization. I think the OP and I are wondering about 501(c)(7), social clubs and whether they have to file, even though they wouldn't owe tax.
