Small Group Entertainment
 

I am hosting a small group of 50-60 people at a local Rec Center in the next few months. I need to come up with an entertainment option for that evening. It can be 1 or more people doing comedy, magic, or music. Anything that will entertain a group for a little over an hour.

I am looking for any suggestion from other group hosts.

If you want these people to be able to talk with each other, a comedian, magician, or music will prevent interaction. If you play music, the acoustics in the rec centers is not good, so the music sounds bad and loud. Also, magic shows are hard to put on because there is no stage and people will have a difficult time seeing the show. I would suggest spending the money on some food instead. Other groups have done trivia games, but it is not my thing.

Our Three Rivers Club had a hypnotist a couple of years ago. He was really good; could tell right away who was a good candidate, and it was really funny and entertaining.

There is an oldies type band that is very good - the grand slam band. If you are interested I'll send you their contact.
