R.I.P. Ginger Baker
Perhaps the best drummer ever. Who can forget listening to his brilliance on Cream and Blind Faith? Here's a drum solo from Do What You Like.

Here's a 2011 version of the the epic "Toad" solo at Royal Albert Hall that's really filmed well:

Was Cream and Ginger Baker the best British band??? Some may beg to differ eventhough they were great. RUSH is arguably the most complete complex trio in the history of music. Each of the members have historically been rated in top three at their craft and they remained relevant from the mid 70's until recently when they announced their retirement. Over 40 years of the same lineup and continuous releasing of new music.

Ginger Baker's drumming style was just incredible. He would "drive" the band with his beats. And his ability to use 2 bass drums was just amazing. Maybe not as unique as Bonham of Led Zeppelin but definitely a great one of a kind.

I read that he was mad-bad-and dangerous to know.
